BY CLINT SCHROEDER, 2026 BOARD CHAIR, CDA REGIONAL CHAMBER
It is truly an honor to step into the role of 2026 Board Chair for the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber of Commerce.
If you’ve spent any time around the Chamber, you know there’s a familiar story many of us share: someone asks if you can “help just a little,” and before you know it, you’re chairing a committee or serving on the board. We joke about it—but that story exists because this Chamber is powered by people who care deeply about this community and are willing to make time for it.
At its core, a Chamber of Commerce is not about meetings or events. It is about people intentionally choosing to build a stronger community together. That belief will guide everything we do in 2026 and beyond.
A CLEAR VISION FOR THE FUTURE
Our vision is ambitious and straightforward:
A region where businesses thrive, talent grows, and families are proud to call Coeur d’Alene home—because we have an economy that works for everyone.
That means fostering a business climate that supports growth and entrepreneurship, strengthening workforce and education pathways that meet employer needs, and managing development in a way that preserves the character and values that make this place special. These principles are the lens through which your Chamber operates, because trust—especially today—matters.
National research continues to show that Chambers remain among the most trusted local institutions. That trust is something we must earn every day here at home by leading with integrity, purpose, and impact.
TURNING VISION INTO ACTION
Vision without strategy is just a nice idea. Our board is focused on execution.
First, we will continue to be the connective tissue of the business community. Businesses grow through relationships—through the right conversations at the right time. You’ll see us doubling down on intentional networking, industry-specific conversations, collaborative partnerships with neighboring Chambers, and events designed to be catalytic, not just social.
Second, we are committed to protecting and elevating the credibility of Chamber membership. When the public knows a business is a Chamber member, they are more likely to buy from it and recommend it. That’s not symbolism—that’s real value. Membership in this Chamber is a badge of trust, and we will continue to elevate it in our messaging and across our platforms.
Third, we will lead with purpose on advocacy and regional competitiveness. A Chamber that only networks is a social club. An advocacy Chamber is a force. We will continue to advocate for pro-business policies, smart growth, workforce development, education, and the infrastructure realities facing our region. Our role is to ensure that Coeur d’Alene remains competitive, resilient, and prepared for what lies ahead.
THE POWER OF VOLUNTEERS
None of this works without you.
Staff build the platform—but volunteers make the experience. Across the country, Chambers are evolving into community leadership organizations, and engagement is strongest when people feel a sense of purpose, belonging, and visible impact.
So, my ask is simple: if this Chamber has helped your business, your team, or your connection to this community, don’t just renew—Engage. Lead. Mentor a NEXT GEN participant. Sponsor. Share your expertise. Be present.
The Chamber is not a building. It is a volunteer network with a mission. And when that network moves, the entire region moves with it.
Change is coming—growth, technology, demographic shifts. The question isn’t whether we change, but whether we lead the change or get led by it. I am confident that together, we will lead.
Thank you for your membership, your time, and your belief in Coeur d’Alene. Let’s keep building a Chamber that delivers—and a community we’re proud to shape.
With gratitude,
Clint Schroeder | 2026 Board Chair, Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber of Commerce
