Coeur d’Alene is the place to be this summer as the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber’s strategic partners bring you an incredible lineup of family-friendly outdoor events. Emily Boyd, Executive Director for the Downtown Association of Coeur d’Alene, shares insights on the significance of these events for the health and prosperity of our community.

“Events help create a vibrant downtown and generate substantial traffic for small businesses. We are grateful to our fellow strategic partners (Arts & Culture Alliance, CVB, NICT and Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber of Commerce) for hosting successful events throughout the downtown corridor that generate traffic for businesses and create a sense of place for locals and visitors alike.”

Let’s delve into the exciting summer events happening in our community!

First up is the 5th Street Farmers Market, hosted by the Coeur d’Alene Downtown Association. This weekly event is held every Wednesday, 4 PM – 7 PM from now until September and provides a central place for community members to gather, support one another, and buy fresh produce, flowers, pastries, art, and more. While you’re there, hop on over to McEuen park for our weekly Live After 5 concerts, featuring national and regional artists.

August brings even more excitement with the Coeur d’Alene Street Fair, converging arts, crafts, food, and entertainment in the heart of downtown CDA. This crowd favorite features over 250 vendors offering an array of food, fine art, crafts, clothing, and more. Make your way over to the City Park for the Taste of Coeur d’Alene, hosted by the Idaho Panhandle Kiwanis.

The fun doesn’t stop there! Art on the Green, a beloved fine arts outdoor festival is happening on the grounds of NIC this same weekend, August 4 – August 6. This event encourages community members to showcase their creativity and celebrate the arts.

Speaking of the arts, the Coeur d’Alene Arts & Culture Alliance proudly presents the Riverstone Summer Concert Series every Thursday night from July 6 through August 31. Located at the Idaho Central Credit Union Amphitheater in Riverstone Park, this concert series showcases talented local musicians from various genres. A&C also hosts Artwalk each month, as they are dedicated to fostering creativity and community in Coeur d’Alene. Hear from the Arts & Culture Alliance about the value of their institution:

“The Arts & Culture Alliance brings people together through art. I love seeing the positive impact our programs have on individuals and the community.”

Don’t forget to stop by the chamber for the 2023 Artists Guide for the CDA Artists Studio Tour!

Lastly, if you’re a fan of craft beer, wine, cider, or delicious mocktails, don’t miss  Ales for the Trail on August 19 at Coeur d’Alene City Park. This gathering brings together local and regional brewers for a day of tastings and fundraising for a vital community legacy,  the North Idaho Centennial Trail. Sip on your favorite beverages while enjoying live music from talented artists like Kyle Richard Music and Jam Shack, and snacking on some delicious food from Coeur d’Alene’s best food trucks!
