For 114 years, the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber has been part of our community’s evolution. We’ve watched businesses grow, industries change, and generations of leaders leave their mark on North Idaho. Along the way, we’ve come to appreciate something that’s easy to overlook: every generation has a responsibility to prepare the next. As experienced executives retire, new challenges emerge, and our region continues to grow, one question becomes increasingly important: Who is preparing tomorrow’s leaders?
Leadership Doesn’t Develop On Its Own
At the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber, we’ve never believed leadership should be left to chance. For decades, we’ve invested in business and community leaders by creating opportunities to learn, build relationships, and better understand the region we all serve. Today, we’re building on that legacy by connecting emerging professionals directly with experienced business and community leaders.
Four Decades of Leadership Coeur d’Alene
More than 40 years ago, the Chamber launched Leadership Coeur d’Alene with a simple but ambitious goal: helping participants better understand the people, organizations, opportunities, and challenges that shape our region while building relationships that last a lifetime.
More than 1,000 graduates later, Leadership Coeur d’Alene alumni lead businesses, serve on nonprofit boards, hold elected office, guide healthcare organizations, educate our children, and volunteer throughout our community. The program has quietly become one of the region’s most influential leadership networks, preparing people for civic and community leadership.
Investing in the Next Generation
As our region continued to grow, we also recognized the need to better prepare the next generation of leaders. That led to the creation of NEXTGEN Coeur d’Alene, built around executive mentorship, leadership development, and direct access to experienced business and community leaders.
Designed for professionals ages 20 to 39, NEXTGEN Coeur d’Alene pairs participants with senior executives for one-on-one mentorship while providing interactive leadership labs that build confidence, strengthen leadership skills, expand professional networks, and prepare participants for greater responsibility throughout their careers.
Two Programs. One Shared Purpose.
Although both programs focus on leadership, each was created with a distinct purpose. Leadership Coeur d’Alene prepares participants for civic and community leadership by helping them better understand the region they serve. NEXTGEN Coeur d’Alene equips emerging professionals with the skills, relationships, and confidence to lead within their organizations and industries. Together, they create a leadership pipeline that benefits businesses, nonprofits, and our entire community.
