Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Commodores to promote Coeur d'Alene
by producing the Aw$um Auction, Chamber Banquet, Coeur
d'Alene Float, Jr. Miss Program and by attending
parades, grand
openings and ribbon cutting ceremonies.
2008 Goals
- Coeur d'Alene Junior Miss Program
Program will be held at North Idaho College Schuler
Auditorium. Goal is 40 participants. Scholarship Awards
are $9,080. The Commodores will act as a liaison for
this program. Chair is TBA, who will work with the 2007
Chair, Patricia Richardson. They will be working with a
Jr. Miss committee, overseen by the Commodore Chair.
- Aw$um Auction
To organize and produce the primary fundraiser of the
year. Our goal is $149,600 gross, which will net
$100,900. Chair is Alison McArthur, Co Chair is Shelly
Zollman. Date is April 12, 2008.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies
Ribbon Cutting goal is 50 for 2008. Photos will be
published in The North Idaho Business Journal and in the
monthly Chamber newsletter.
- Annual Banquet
To produce the annual Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet
within the budget of $20,000. Chair is Teri Grubbs.
- Float and Parades
Maintain our community float, whose primary purpose is
to actively promote Coeur d’Alene area and the
activities of the Coeur d’Alene Area Chamber of Commerce
by participating in local and out-of town parades and
festivals throughout the Northwest and Canada. We will
also maintain our truck and new trailer. We will use our
Pirate Ship float again in 2008. We will refurbish and
re-build our golf-cart mini-float. Sponsorships will be
sold to existing and new sponsors to help cover our
expense. The float and truck/trailer committees
(formerly separate) are consolidated and chaired by
Michael King, co-chair is TBA. We will attend 12 parades
in 2008, balanced between 6 local and 6 out-of-town.
Parade Chair is Patricia Richardson.
- Publicity
To promote and publicize the functions of the Coeur
d’Alene Chamber of Commerce and Commodores. Chair is
Chuck Anderson.
- Membership
The Commodores will make an effort to bring membership
up to 45 this year, a net gain of 5. It is the goal of
the Commodores to ensure that membership is a fun
experience and a privileged position so that potential
members want to join the Committee. Chair is Jennifer
Edwards.
